Job Summary

This position is responsible for the management of all Operating Departments within the facility, including a small inside / external sales team. The current plant operation has a total of 83 FTE. The existing sales team and all internal operations team will report to this position. This position will act as a General Manager and be responsible for a full profit and loss statement, including revenue/sales, direct and indirect costs and all general and administrative expenses, as well as annual budgeting, pricing / estimating, procurement, scheduling, billing and weekly income statement forecasting.
The position serves clients and operations team by working with Qualfon Marketing Services line of business personnel and all internal departments to plan and implement marketing service strategies specific to the client base, identify ways to improve sales, and operations; and most importantly, lead and develop a positive client experience. To effectively build a high-performance culture, the General Manager is responsible for all client activities and must be engaged with all strategic and tactical needs of the client base.

Area of expertise (Skills)

  • Drives sales to the facility through reseller channels as well as direct sales.

  • Directs operations by monitoring system performance; identifying and resolving problems; preparing and completing action plans; completing system audits and analyses; managing system and process improvement and quality assurance programs

  • Implements strategies by conducting needs assessments, performance reviews, capacity planning, establishing productivity, quality, and customer service standards; contributing information and analysis to organizational strategic plans and reviews

  • Ensures quality performance is achieved using Six Sigma tools and methodologies

  • Works with the various support teams, including outside vendors, The Person’s Office and IT to accomplish objectives

  • Hires, trains and retains a top performing staff

  • Ensure administrative bookkeeping and client billing is accurate

  • Keep track of staffing, vs. expected revenue, etc.

  • Be a Mission Leader by being a Manager, Mentor and Messenger

  • Prepares performance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value and expand the business

  • Monitor and track all client related KPI’s; keep the executive management team aware of current results etc.

  • Motivate and encourage the team through positive communication and feedback

  • Schedule training, departmental meetings, sales training, and computer training as needed

  • Develop sustainable solutions for the client as well as new programs, and seeks to motivate and educate personnel as well as the client

  • Maintain and support compliance of all regulations:  Safety, OSHA, HIPPA, ISO, etc.

Other Skills and Experiences (Min)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Ten years of management experience with clients and staff in a print/warehouse environment, with proven track record of operation excellence

  • Sales acumen, including expert knowledge of forms, web, off-set and digital printing

  • Ability to influence positive change and earn respect of clients and peers

  • Able to multitask

  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principals

  • A solid background in print, and warehouse operations

  • Understands the value of employee engagement and superior customer care

  • Ability to communicate and motivate via written media

  • Must have problem solving, people, process improvement, and process management skills

  • Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Experience with Inventory Systems and Warehouse Management Systems

  • Ability to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations, cash-flow, overheads, etc.

  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and high performance
