Job Summary

Position Overview: As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our enterprise-level Oracle Database environments, spanning various versions and including deployments in Oracle Cloud. You will leverage your extensive experience to ensure the performance, availability, and security of our databases, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:
1.    Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database instances across all versions, including Oracle Database 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c.
2.    Design and implement robust database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and minimize downtime.
3.    Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance issues using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, AWR reports, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure monitoring.
4.    Implement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
5.    Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patch deployments with minimal disruption to business operations.
6.    Configure and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and Oracle Autonomous Database in Oracle Cloud.
7.    Automate routine database administration tasks using PL/SQL scripts, Oracle Enterprise Manager, or other tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
8.    Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries, database schema design, and indexing strategies for improved performance and scalability.
9.    Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for database administration processes and procedures.
10.    Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continually seeking opportunities to enhance our database infrastructure and operations.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's College Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:    

Minimum of 7 years work related experience in same position or related industry

Other Skills and Experiences (Min)

  • Requirements:
    1.    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    2.    8+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with expertise in managing all versions of Oracle Database.
    3.    Proven experience in deploying and managing Oracle Cloud services, including Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
    4.    In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database architecture, internals, and advanced features.
    5.    Strong understanding of database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
    6.    Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Oracle Database, both on-premises and in the cloud.
    7.    Proficiency in scripting and automation using PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, or similar tools.
    8.    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
    9.    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    10.    Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) are highly desirable.
