Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing and processing daily payroll activities ensuring the accuracy of payroll preparation and processing. This candidate will oversee the payroll preparation and input and will be responsible for reviewing payroll, tax reports, and the preparation of payroll journal entries. The Payroll Supervisor will ensure the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of payroll data and act as a liaison between the company, government, and auditors in providing required information. This individual will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for daily payroll activities
• Maintain company payroll procedures and policies
• Oversee systems maintenance process
• Oversee multi-state and local tax/compliance issues and regulations; Keep abreast of changes in wage and tax laws and correspond with state and local tax agencies
• Assist with W-2s and statements of deposits
• Audit payroll data and loads into ADP for payroll processing
• Oversee special deductions, overrides, corrections, voids, retroactive adjustments and re-issues, relocation payments, severance payments and bonus/commission payments
• Process garnishments, tax levy's, wage assignments, support orders and bankruptcies
• Coordinate communication between payroll department and all company locations
• Audit and loads all data related to bonus and commission requests, ensuring requests are compliant to corporate policies and contain proper authorizations and approvals
• Assist with payroll audits
• Maintain and analyzes relocation reimbursement for possible inclusion of W-2
• Investigate and responds to all local/state/federal letters of discrepancies
• Provide Corporate support for ADP products including user training and ongoing helpdesk support
• Maintain the highest level of internal customer service
• Analyze processing methods and procedures and make suggestions for improvements
• Maintain Corporate PTO accruals according to company policy
• Train new employees on time entry requirements and payroll processes and policies
Area of expertise (Skills)
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education and experience
• 2 years payroll processing experience
• 1+ years of experience in processing multi-state and global payrolls
• 2+ years of experience in processing garnishments, levy's and support payments
• 2+ years of experience with ADP payroll processing
• Experience in report writing
• Must possess the ability to work with a wide variety of people with varying skill sets and often time's stressful situations
• Must possess excellent interdepartmental and intradepartmental communications skills
• Solid experience in Excel and MS office product
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and annual W-2 forms
• Ability to work multiple simultaneous projects and maintain flexibility and control in the management of change while ensuring payrolls are processed within ADP timeframes
